What is SHOUTcast?
SHOUTcast is a software designed to allow broadcasters to deliver media across the Internet from their home pc(WIndows or Mac) directly to the listeners media player. SHOUTcast is most likely the most compatible webcasting format. It is supported by all major media players such as Windows Media Player, Itunes, Winamp, QuickTime and RealPlayer. There are also many mobile applications available that will allow your listners to tune in cellphones, tablet pcs and other mobile devices.
What is Icecast?
Icecast is very similar to SHOUTcast because it to is a streaming media server which delivers media from the broadcaster to the listener via the Internet. Icecast however supports both Ogg Vorbis and MP3 audio streaming. It is also set up with multiple mount points(/live, /autodj and /stream) which enables a seamless transition between live broadcasts and your Auto DJ.

We do not however recommend purchasing a SHOUTcast or Icecast reseller account from anyone. We have that capability but to ensure only the highest quality products for our customers we currently do not offer them. We can however build a reliable and cost effective dedicated Centova Cast server that is less expensive than most reseller accounts. We will be adding them to our order pages in the near future.
